Expulsion of the French of Metz
In 1940-41, in order to erase all traces of French culture, the German authorities brutally assembled ten thousands of Francophile inhabitants of the Mosel region not far from here at the old train station “Metz-Marchandises”, in order to expel them to non-occupied France.
This plaque is dedicated to their memory.
