OSCEOLA MILLS The first town in the county to receive a railroad in 1862 and the telephone in 1878. In 1874 Berwind-White, the 4th largest coal company in the world, was founded here. The 1875 fire made homeless over 1200 of 1500 residents. Birthplace of Publisher Horace Liveright in 1886. On the route of the Lakes to Sea Highway in 1923.
