California's First Chairlift

This plaque is mounted on a solitary chairlift tower on the face of Mount Disney in Sugar Bowl, California. It reads: "Site of California's first chairlift / Built and erected in 1939 by the Moore Dry Dock Company of Oakland, CA / Dedicated to the vision of Sugar Bowl's founding fathers." Note: Visiting it during wintertime requires skis and willingness to take the hard way down.
