Charles Darwin lived in a house

"Charles Darwin lived in a house on this site, 1828." The upper plaque on TL4558 : Darwin's former lodgings indicates the approximate level of his rooms over the tobacconist's shop, on the site now occupied by the Boots store in Sidney Street. Darwin rented this accommodation while he was an undergraduate at Christ's College. For the lower plaque at street level see TL4558 : Plaque on Boots, Sidney Street.
