Hamlet's Castle

Kronborg Castle in Helsingor, Denmark. Hamlet's castle.

"Legend tells of a king's son, Amleth, who lived in Jutland during Viking times.  Saxo wrote down his saga in the Middle Ages.  Shakespeare rewrote Hamlet's story in the Renaissance and associated it with this castle.  He thereby secured the Danish prince's reputation and spread Helsingør's name across the world."
