Lynn Williams Street
Lynn Williams Street is named after one of Canada's pre-eminent labour leaders. This street is located near the site of the former John Inglis plant, one of the major manufacturing facilities that laid the foundation for industrial Ontario.
Lynn Williams joined the United Steelworkers at Inglis in 1947 and in 1984 became the first Canadian elected international president of the union - the United Steelworkers of America.
Lynn Williams has always been a passionate advocate for industrial democracy and for the right of working people to have an effective voice at their places of work.
