Plaque commemorating the opening of the Talybont Reservoir

Located here. Link The Newport County Borough plaque records that the reservoir was declared open by the mayor of Newport on June 29th 1939. Decades before the existence of Welsh Water, the Waterworks department of what was at the time Newport County Borough oversaw the building of the reservoir to supply water to Newport, 40km to the SE.
