It is located at the entrance of the building. The English section of the text reads, "Founded in the early 16th Century by the O'Donnells for the Franciscan Friars, and built on the site of an older church erected by the O'Toners. In 1559 Calvagh O'Donnell and his wife were captured here and carried off into captivity by Shane O'Neill. On 23rd, September, 1592, Neal O'Boyle, Bishop of Raphoe, held a chapter here. The buildings and lands were granted at the plantation to Captain Basil Brooke."
