Plaque on the John Clare Cottage, Helpston

The cottage on Woodgate was home to the Northamptonshire "peasant poet" John Clare (1793-1864) from the time of his birth to 1832. It was acquired by the John Clare Trust in 2005 and was opened as a visitor centre.
