The Green-Wood Cemetery - 250th Anniversary Site

THIS PROPERTY HAS BEEN PLACED ON THE NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES BY THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR THE GREEN-WOOD CEMETERY On August 27, 1776, during the American Revolution and just weeks after the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the Battle of Brooklyn was fought across these grounds and other points in Brooklyn. It is also the final resting place of over 65 Revolutionary War patriots.
